Everything that is wrong with American politics is evident in the recent border legislation that the Senate proposed, and the Republicans have rejected. Prior to Joe Biden taking office, our southern border was as secure as it had been in decades. But on his first week in office, Biden signed dozens of executive orders which undid most of what was working to secure our border. He swung the border wide open. He personally created the current crisis at the border, and it started the day he took office. Over 7 million illegal immigrants have crossed our border since January 2021, almost double the previous all-time high. This was a manufactured crisis by Biden and the Democrats.
For the first three years of the Biden administration, the Democrats have denied that there even was a crisis at our border. In August 2023, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that Biden has "done more to secure the border" and deal with illegal immigration "than anybody else." In 2022, a year during which we saw 2 million illegal immigrants enter our country, KJP said, “we are doing everything that we can to make sure that we follow the process that’s been put forth. That’s why we have historic funding to do just that, to make sure that the folks that we encounter at the border be removed or expelled.” Vice President Kamala Harris said on Meet the Press in September 2022, “We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation, including ours and our administration.” And in 2021, the year 1.7 million illegal immigrants enter through our southern border, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas told congressmen on Capitol Hill that “the border is secure and the border is not open.”
Here we are in 2024, a Presidential election year, and the Democrats are finally admitting that there is a crisis at the border because the American people have eyes and can see what Joe Biden’s open border policy is doing to their country. So, the Democrats are doing what they always do, blame the Republicans for the crisis that they caused. So, with the help of several swamp dwelling Republicans, like Mitch McConnell, the Democrats, led by Chuck Schumer, crafted a so-called “border security” bill, which is tied to funding the Ukrainian war and the war in Israel. There is absolutely nothing in this bill which stops the current flow of illegal immigrants into our country. Nothing. It limits the number of illegal immigrants allowed to come into our country every day at 5,000, that comes to 1.8 million illegal immigrants every year, which is the pace that we are on today that everyone is calling a crisis.
This bill is simply legitimizing the border crisis that Joe Biden created in 2021. The United States of America is being overrun by foreign nationals, not just from Mexico or Central America, but from all over the world, from countries we consider our geo-political enemies. We are being inundated by people whose names we do not know, whose criminal backgrounds we have no way of finding out, who’s affiliation to our enemies or terrorist groups that we have no clue about. These people are all walking into our country and the Democrats and some slimy Republicans put legislation together attempting to legitimize this invasion. And they placed that in legislation as leverage against the funding of the Ukrainian war and the war in Israel.
Any true conservative Republican in Congress should automatically vote against this bill. It is the biggest bait and switch that American politicians have ever tried to pull on the American people. The problem is the smart Republicans, who see right through this game, and vote against this garbage legislation will be destroyed in the media for voting against border security legislation, even though there are no border security measures in the “border security” bill. None.
There’s an old saying, ‘don’t judge a book by its cover.’ In Washington DC, don’t judge a bill by its title. The Inflation Reduction Act, didn’t reduce inflation. The USA Patriot Act wasn’t very Patriotic, it legalized government spying on its citizens. No Child Left Behind act, left thousands of children behind. And the Border Security Bill, doesn’t secure the border. In fact, like the Democrats, the bills usually do the exact opposite of what the name of the bill says. But the media will still write that the Republicans voted against border security, even though there was no border security in the bill.
On Tuesday, Biden said, “now, all indications are this bill won’t even move forward to the Senate floor. Why? A simple reason: Donald Trump… Every day between now and November, the American people are going to know that the only reason the border is not secure is Donald Trump and his MAGA Republican friends.” This bill was never meant to pass. They wrote it so the Republicans had no choice but to reject it. And the Democrats got what they want. Their election year talking point. Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) admitted that they are going to keep doing this. He said they are going “to have multiple votes and keep the border in the news.” Their plan is keep voting on “border security” legislation that doesn’t secure the border, so they can blame the unsecure border on the Republicans. Congressman Chip Roy of Texas summed it perfectly when he tweeted, the “bill [was] designed by Democrats to boost Biden against Trump by helping Dems blame Republicans for open borders.”
Not only are they using this bill to blame the open border on the Republicans, but to also are trying to blame any escalation of the Ukrainian war in the Republicans. Chuck Schumer said, “Why is it[Border Security bill] crucial? Well, if we don’t aid Ukraine, Putin will walk all over Ukraine, we will lose the war. And we could be fighting in eastern Europe in a NATO ally in a few years. Americans won’t like that.” So, he is claiming that if we don’t pass this “border security” bill, then in a few years, American soldiers will be fighting the Russians. If aid to Ukraine ensures that Americans will not have to fight the Russians, then why doesn’t Schumer propose a standalone Ukrainian aid bill? Why would he risk leveraging the lives of American soldiers this way? If he did that, then he couldn’t politicize the border and the Ukraine war against the Republicans. In the meantime, tens of thousands of Americans and Ukrainians are dying because of the Democrats strategy to win elections.
My question is, why don’t the Republicans introduce their own border security bill with 100% border security – building a wall, National Guard on the border, mass deportations – and nothing else, and when the Democrats reject that because they don’t want border security, we can blame the crisis back on them? Let’s be clear, both sides are politicizing this issue, during this Presidential election year, the difference is that the Democrats are on the wrong side of the issue, and the Republicans are on the right side, or at least most Republicans are. Democrats have been on the wrong side of this issue from the first day of the Biden administration, and they are trying to perform a legislative slide of hand to flip the narrative and blame everything on the Republicans.
The worst part of all this is that Biden and the Democrats do not care a lick about the migrants. They are pawns in their game. They are tools. It is sickening. The illegal immigrants are modern day slaves to the Democrats. The uneducated poor migrants are the new permanent underclass that the Democrat donors need to enrich themselves, and are the votes that Democrat politicians crave to win elections.
The biggest problem with American politics is that too many American voters will actually believe the garbage that the Democrats are trying to sell. The problem is we have too many uninformed or out and out unintelligent people voting and those are the very people that Democrats rely on to get elected. And that’s why they can pull bait and switches like this or blame Republicans for every bad thing that they do, because they know that their voting base and their lapdogs in the media will believe and repeat every lie that comes out of their mouths. We are witnessing it right now.
