In 2019, Kamala Harris said that Donald Trump’s border wall was a “medieval vanity project” and a waste of taxpayer money, but then in 2024, she produced a campaign ad with her standing in front of Trump’s border wall, claiming to be for strong border security, even though as the Border Czar, she allowed in 10 million illegal immigrants. In the past, she said that she supported Bernie Sanders’ Medicare-For-All proposal; now she is adamant, that she is against such a program. In 2019, she made it very clear during her Democrat primary campaign that she supported a ban on fracking, and now she claims that she is all in for fracking in Pennsylvania. While in the Senate, Harris co-sponsored a bill – the Zero-Emission Vehicles Act – that would have required manufacturers to produce only electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles by 2040. And in her 2020 campaign, she pledged to “go further and implement an ‘accelerated model’ of the Zero-Emission Vehicles Act,” and move the timeline up to 2035. Now, she denies that she was ever for an electric vehicle mandate.
Harris has changed her positions on pretty much every important issue during this election cycle that she, in essence, has co-opted Donald Trump’s entire campaign platform. When asked about her flip-flopping during her CNN interview with Dana Bash, she said, "I think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed." And Dana dutifully nodded along like the bobblehead that she is, afraid that if she held a Democrat politician’s feet to the fire, her next assignment would be to study the migration habits of the penguins in the Antarctic. When Harris said that her “values have not changed”, it was a clear dog whistle to all of her fellow comrades that she still believes in the entire far left agenda of open borders, Medicare-For-All, ban on fracking, electric vehicle mandates, essentially the destruction of the United States. It was a wink and a nod, telling them that nothing has changed from her previous positions regardless of what is spouting out of her mouth right now.
On Friday’s broadcast of ABC’s “The View,” Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro said that “it’s a sign of strength” that Kamala Harris has changed her position on several issues. That all depends – did she have a true epiphany on these issues and changed her positions because she actually believes that her new positions are what is best for our country, or did she change her positions for more self-serving reasons.
The only positive of having a media that rarely ever asks a Democrat politician a challenging question is that the Democrats get both arrogant and lazy, so at times they end up letting the truth slip out. Yesterday, on NBC’s “Meet the Press”, Bernie Sanders was asked by Kristen Welker if he thought that Kamala Harris’ flip-flopping on most of her positions was “abandoning her progressive ideals?” And Sanders, probably not used to a question from NBS that he must think about, said the quiet thing out loud, “No, I don’t think she’s abandoning her ideals. I think she’s trying to be pragmatic and doing what she thinks is right in order to win the election.” And there it is. That is the essence of why flip-flopping should be such an important concern for every voter. Did Harris actually change her positions for a good reason? Or did she just say that she changed her positions in order to get elected, and actually will govern according to her previous positions? Bernie Sanders admitted that she only changed her positions “in order to win the election”.
And this brings me directly to the question that I always ask about American politics. If these are the positions that you must adopt in order to get elected because these are what most Americans believe in and want implemented, then why don’t the politicians not only advocate for them in their campaigns for office, but also implement them into their legislative agendas once they are in office? Kamala Harris is the most blatant example, but the overwhelming majority of politicians promise to do one thing during the campaign, and then do the exact opposite once they are elected. Why? They don’t care about doing the will of the people; they only care about attaining power so they can do the will of the power brokers who helped get them elected.
Bernie Sanders doesn’t mind talking about that because he is a good little communist and that is what communist do – they lie to get power and then they control every aspect of your life once they are in power. That is exactly what Kamala Harris will do if she is elected. Regardless of what she says during the debate on Tuesday, she wants open borders, Medicare-For-All, ban on fracking, destruction of the oil and gas industry, electric car mandates, tax us to death, regulate us to death, spend us to death. And that is what Trump supporters love about Donald Trump. He is not beholden to billionaire donors or the military industrial complex or the deep state or even the media syndicate. He is free to do what he believes is best for America and the American people. He will do what he campaigns on while Harris will do the exact opposite of what she is campaigning on.
The shame of it is that there are 70 million voters who are either in on Harris’ lies or will fall for her lies. And then we collectively wonder, why we have $35 trillion of debt, a stagnant economy, an unaffordable housing market, failing schools, a drug epidemic, cities infested with crime and homelessness, social media censorship, sexualization of children, endless foreign wars, and a litany of other problems that our elected officials promised to solve and have never gotten around to them. We end up with the country that we vote for, and if we are willfully ignorant voters, then we will get a country run by corrupt, dishonest, self-serving leaders who do not give a rat’s ass for the people who do not care enough about their country to actually inform themselves before casting their ballots.
