On November 11, New York Times economist Paul Krugman wrote, “if [agriculture sector] workers are deported, the food industry will probably have great difficulty replacing them. The industry will have to offer much higher wages [to hire American workers] — and, of course, these higher wages will be passed on in higher [inflated grocery] prices.” On November 15, former treasury secretary Larry Summers told CNN that “if you’re talking about deporting millions of people, that is an invitation to labor shortages and bottlenecks… there will be an inflation shock significantly greater than the one the country suffered in 2021.”
So deporting illegal immigrants will cause companies to hire American citizens at higher wages. Isn’t this what we have been saying for the last four years? Illegal immigrants take jobs from American citizens and drive down wages. And whenever we said what Krugman and Summers have just said, we were called racists. Now, the left is trying to scare us into believing that if Trump deports millions of illegal immigrants, there will be a catastrophic inflationary response because companies will be forced to hire, God forbid, American citizens at higher wages. Isn’t that what we want? American citizens working at jobs paying good wages?
They are trying to scare us into thinking that illegal immigrants are what is keeping our country afloat, and that our entire economy will collapse if Trump deports the illegals. Think back to 2019, prior to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris letting 10 million illegal immigrants into this country, our economy was not in complete disarray. In fact, we had one of the most thriving economies in my lifetime – unemployment was low, wages were high, GDP was high, inflation was down, interest rates were down. So, it doesn’t appear that adding those 10 million illegal immigrants into the country was actually beneficial from a macro-economic standpoint. As those illegal immigrants flooded into the country, inflation grew to over 9%, the cost of housing increased dramatically, wages got depressed, and many American citizens dropped out of the workforce. It was bad for everyone, except for the billionaires wanting to maximize their profits by decreasing their labor costs.
As with everything from the left, it is all one big lie. Why do you think Kamala Harris had over $1 billion to spend on her campaign? All of that money wasn’t coming from McDonald’s workers or Starbucks baristas. That money was coming from millionaires and billionaires who companies’ profits rely on the influx of illegal immigrants depressing wages of their workforce. The Democrats were supposed to be the ones for the workers and against big business, but it has completely flipped.
It is ironic that the people on the left, who are always pushing to increase the minimum wage because it is the humane thing for workers to receive a “livable wage”, brought 10 million illegal immigrants into the country to depress wages, so their billionaire donors do not have to pay a livable wage to their workers. The Democrats only want to impose minimum wage increases on small businesses while at the same time making it much easier for big corporations to employ illegal immigrants, so they can pay them well below the minimum wage. And now they are trying to scare us with the threat of inflation into keeping the job taking, wage lowering, housing price increasing illegal immigrants in the country.
And if you mention any of this, they call you a racist. But this is how it all worked for the last four years. The Democrats conduct a war on energy which drives up production costs for businesses and prices for consumers, and at the same time, they go on a multi-trillion-dollar spending spree, which causes the Fed to print billions of new dollars which devalues the currency and increases inflation, and then they tried to combat the inflationary climate they just created by importing millions of unskilled, uneducated, illegal immigrants to drive down wages which lowers production costs in the hopes it will lower consumer prices. What they do not realize is that depressing wages has the exact same effect on the people as increasing inflation – their buying power decreases.
And all this did was to get Donald Trump re-elected President. I guess 75 million people are willing to be called a “racist” and a “misogynist” in order to be able to buy groceries and afford a home. Trump’s plan is to unleash our energy supply to make us energy independent, which will drive down energy prices, which in turn, drives down production costs and consumer prices, while at the same time, he will make government run more efficiently so we don’t carry multitrillion dollar currency devaluing deficits year to year, so therefore we don’t need 10 million unskilled, uneducated workers to drive down wages and prices. We can actually hire American citizens to do the work at a fair wage, and because the other production costs are down, and inflation won’t hit. Trump’s approach is pro-American, pro-worker while Biden’s approach was anti-American and anti-worker, but pro-billionaire. Is there a wonder why black, Hispanic and union workers voted for the Republican candidate at historic levels? It is not because they suddenly became racists or misogynists; they just want to have a job that pays a good wage and have a home that they can afford – you know, like most people do.
