Save Us

Yesterday, President Joe Biden declared that Easter Sunday, the holiest of Christian holidays is now "Transgender Day of Visibility." He simply made that proclamation unilaterally, without anyone’s consent, without a vote in Congress. He proclaimed it so it is, as if he were a king or a monarch or a dictator. Former President Donald Trump rightfully called Joe Biden’s proclamation “appalling and insulting” towards Christians on Easter. And during the annual egg roll on the White House lawn, Biden prohibited children from submitting religious Easter eggs for an event that is celebrating a religious holiday.

If you want an idea as to why Donald Trump is still so popular, you do not have to look any further than this. If the Democrats had not been taken over by the far left, Donald Trump would not exist in American politics. His candidacy would have lasted a couple of months, and fizzled into nothing. There would be no need for Donald Trump. His existence is a result of what the left has been doing, not only to America, but to all of Western culture.

What Joe Biden tried to do to Easter this week proves that the LGBTQ movement was never about people with different lifestyles simply wanting to live their lives and be left alone. It may have appeared to begin that way, but it was never just about that. These people not only want to inject their lifestyle and worldview into everyone else’s life, but they want to use their lifestyles to destroy all remnants of traditional Western culture. After years and years of screaming that the non-LGBTQ society cannot impose their beliefs on them, LGBTQ activists are now imposing their lifestyles and their beliefs on the rest of us. And that is what Joe Biden did with his proclamation, impose the LGBTQ worldview onto our the most prominent religion in our country. It is a good thing that Jesus is infinitely bigger than a group of half-naked people running around demanding that their delusions are affirmed.

Two thousand years ago, Jesus died on a cross and rose from the dead for our sins. Sometimes I wonder, when Jesus looks down on the world today, does he question if it was worth it. Was each lash of the whip and each spike through his flesh worth it for what we have become, for what we turned his sacrifice into? As I look around the world, I wonder if this world is actually worth saving? When the people of the world became too wicked, God flooded the earth and started over with Noah. When Sodom and Gomorrah became so evil that God couldn’t even find ten good men in both those cities combined, he destroyed them both with fire and brimstone. I often wonder if God may be planning on doing the same to our world in its current state.

Evil and wickedness is everywhere. In the 21st century, there are still wars going on that accomplish nothing other than the deaths of tens of thousands of innocent people. We have people in this country who have actually taken the side of the Hamas terrorists in the war that those terrorists started with Israel. These people rally in our streets and Universities, and are not called out for siding with terrorists. You can be canceled for using the wrong pronoun, but nothing happens for taking the side of terrorists.

There are people in China and Mexico who have created an apparatus to manufacture and distribute the deadly drug fentanyl into the United States that they know will kill tens of thousands of Americans every year, and they do it anyway. How evil do you have to be to do that? That is Nazi level evil. But our leaders do nothing about it. In fact, they encourage it. We have a President who purposely opened our southern border knowing that it would cause all those deaths of Americans and he did it anyway because open borders benefit his political party.

The devil is winning. The corruption of our culture is the clear sign. 50% of marriages end in divorce.  40% of babies are being born out of wedlock. 800,000 abortions take place every year. Pharmaceutical companies are passing out abortion pills to teenagers as if they are candy. Pornography is now at everyone’s fingertips. Our children are being sexualized. The LGBTQ lifestyle is being promoted in many of our elementary schools. There was actually a place called Epstein’s Island where young underage girls were sex trafficked to some of the most powerful men in world, we all know about it and not one of those powerful men have been arrested. Rapper and music mogul, P Diddy Combs, homes were raided this week because he has been running a decades long underage sex trafficking ring.

And we wonder what has happened to the youth of our country. This week, in Washington, DC, three young girls – a 12-year-old and two 13-year-olds – were arrested for the brutal and deadly attack on a disabled man, Reggie Brown, in 2023. Video footage shows the girls chasing the disabled 64-year-old man down an alley, ripping him off a chain link fence as he desperately tried to escape, and then stomp him to death. And they all walk away with no remorse.

The most disgusting part of all of this is the moral arrogance that the people who are responsible for the total corruption of our culture assume. They believe they are the enlightened ones, morally superior to the rest of us. But they only believe that because they are completely embedded in the world, so they believe that worldly problems require worldly solutions. But their morality is merely pragmatism disguised as a morality. You feel bad, take a pill. You’re unhappy in your marriage, get a divorce. You are uncomfortable with the way puberty is changing your body, chop off body parts. It is all pragmatism. You want to get out an unwanted pregnancy, get an abortion, if the babies dies, it dies. Who cares? You got what you want. And you can give yourself a moral out by claiming that the baby was not really a baby, even though we all know it is.

These people who have corrupted our culture leave a path of destruction in their wake that they look back upon and not only blame others for but use the destruction that they caused to justify further corruption of the culture. The left has been attacking and denigrating marriage for the last fifty years, and now that their attacks have devastated American families and marriages to the point that they use the devastation that they wrought on marriage as grounds to argue against the institution of marriage all together.

The evil is everywhere. We have big tech oligarchs who want to take over the world, tell us what to eat, what to think, what to say, how to live. They believe that AI will solve all the world’s problems when all it will do is make every problem worse. The answers to our problems are not found in the next technological innovation. Why is it that when we create more technology, society becomes more and more evil?

The answers to our problems are not worldly solutions, but spiritual ones. This is where transpeople get it completely wrong, we are not going to solve our problems by changing our physical selves, but changing our spiritual selves, our internal selves. That is what Jesus’ death and resurrection was all about. He did the physical work; it is up to us to do the spiritual work. But too much of the world is embedded in the physical.

Jesus gives us the answer to living in a world full of evil and wickedness. Moments before he died on the cross, he called out to God, “father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And that is what we are expected to do, forgive them. How can we expect Jesus to forgive our sins, if we’re unwilling to forgive other people’s sins. This is not to condone the sins or affirm the sinners, but merely to forgive and love people, even the most sinful among us. That is what we are taught as Christians.

At church this morning, I looked around at the congregation, people praying and loving and forgiving, sharing the sign of the peace, rejoicing at the resurrection, humble enough to know they need a savoir, and I thought these are the people that Joe Biden and the left continually warn us about – those who pray and love and forgive.  No Joe, those people are not an existential threat to America, they are the salvation of America.
