The biggest takeaway from President Trump’s address to a joint session of congress last night was the fact that the Democrats refused to stand for a 13-year-old cancer survivor. It is truly a heart-warming story; a young boy diagnosed with brain cancer, given five months to live, undergoes six brain surgeries, and has survived ten times longer than the doctors predicted. And then, he not only fulfils his dream of becoming an honorary police officer but also becomes an honorary secret service agent in front of the entire country. And not one Democrat cheered. That is where we are in this country. We have become so partisan that we cannot all rally around a cancer surviving young man having his lifelong wish come true.
The Democrats came to the Capitol last night, not to hear a speech from the President but to make a statement which nobody watching cared about. Representative Al Green made a fool of himself by disrupting the proceeding early on. He tried to use an old and obvious ploy that we have seen a hundred times before. He was expecting to be dragged out of the Capitol, so he could yell racism, but him being removed from the proceedings had nothing to do with race, and everything to do with his inappropriate behavior. I thought it was a jailable crime to disrupt an official proceeding at the Capitol. That is what many of the January 6th protestors who were thrown in prison were charged with. But I guess if you’re a Democrat, you can disrupt the President’s address to congress or illegally pull the fire alarm at the Capitol to stop a vote, and nothing will happen to you. It's embarrassing when people who have no influence try to make a weak statement, but that was the position the Democrats put themselves in all evening.
The Democrats did not stand or applaud when President Trump was listing billions of dollars of waste, fraud and abuse that DOGE has uncovered so far. If you’re an honest politician, isn’t discovering where the money is being misspent a good thing? That means you have more money that can go to real issues or give back to the taxpayers. Aren’t we all happy when we discover that we have been paying for subscriptions that we are no longer using? That’s more money for us. The Democrats were not cheering because they have been the beneficiaries of the waste, fraud and abuse, and now that it is going away, their political careers may be in jeopardy.
They didn’t applaud when Trump was reading off how many millions of people over the age of 120 have been receiving Social Security checks. It’s a good thing when we uncover billions of dollars of fraud in a system like Social Security that we are always warned is on the brink of bankruptcy. It doesn’t take a math genius to understand that the less money that Social Security is giving out to fraudulent recipients, the more money it has to give to the legitimate recipients and the more it has to help ensure the solvency of the system all together. DOGE is making our country stronger because it is getting our fiscal house in order, but the Democrats don’t want that because they have been corruptly benefitting from the disorder of our fiscal house for a long time.
A contingent of congresswomen showed up wearing pink as a statement that they are standing up for women’s rights, but not one of them stood up when President Trump said that the Federal government was banning males from participating in female sports. Those women wearing pink, voted against the Riley Gaines Act which protects women’s sports and women’s spaces. Apparently, those sitting in pink want men to be able to take women’s opportunities in athletics, to unfairly beat women in competition, to use their superior strength to injure women on the playing field, and then have those same men invade women’s most vulnerable spaces – their locker rooms. The women in pink chose to put men who pretend to be women, ahead of women who merely want equal opportunities to men.
None of the Democrats applauded when Trump announced that the Laken Riley Act was signed into law which protects people from criminal aliens in this country, like the Venezuelan gang member who murdered 22-year-old nursing student Laken Riley who the act was named after. 170 House Democrats, many of whom were sitting in pink, voted against the bill which protects all citizens from violent illegal alien gang members. There is no controversy here. Removing violent, murderers and rapists, should be applauded by everyone, but the Democrats did not applaud because this bill goes against their long-term strategy of achieving permanent power by changing the electorate through mass illegal immigration, so they put their careers and agendas ahead of the safety of women like Laken Riley, and then they have the audacity to wear pink to pretend that they support women.
The Democrats came to President Trump’s address wearing pink, wearing black, holding signs, ready to lash out at the President in order to make a statement to the country, and they made a big statement. They stated that they stand for men abusing women and taking opportunities from women; they stand for the murderous criminal aliens over the safety of American women; they stand for waste, fraud, and abuse over fiscal responsibility; They stated clearly that they will stand against everything that Donald Trump does even if what he does makes the country safer, stronger, more prosperous, and freer. Last night, the Democrats clearly showed that they became politicians not to strengthen America or improve the lives of its citizens, but to empower and enrich themselves. President Trump stood strong all night, as the Democrats became weaker and weaker with every opportunity for unity they rejected until they diminished themselves into nothing.
