Sanctimonious Cities

In Martha’s Vineyard, there is a sign that reads, “We stand with immigrants, with refugees, with indigenous peoples… All are welcome here.” But within 48 hours of receiving a plane full of 50 illegal immigrants sent by Ron DeSantis from Florida, the political leaders in Martha’s Vineyard shipped the illegal immigrants, the very people they proclaim are welcome there, to a military base. Earlier this month, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, relocated busloads of illegal immigrates out of her city as fast as they arrived. At this point, it is fair to ask if the so-called “sanctuary cities” are sanctuaries for illegal immigrants or from illegal immigrants. It appears that places like Chicago, New York, Washington, DC, Philadelphia and now Martha’s Vineyard, who self-righteously proclaim they are “sanctuary” jurisdictions for illegal immigrants, want nothing to do with illegal immigrants. Mayors Eric Adams, Muriel Bowser, Lori Lightfoot and Jim Kenney have all objected to busloads of illegal immigrants arriving in their sanctuaries.

Senator Elizabeth Warren called Ron DeSantis transporting illegal immigrants from Florida to Martha's Vineyard, “repulsive and cruel”. Did she mean it was “repulsive and cruel” to the illegal immigrants or to the citizens of Martha’s Vineyard? California Governor Gavin Newson has urged the Department of Justice to investigate DeSantis for “kidnapping”. Hillary Clinton claimed that DeSantis was “literally human trafficking.” Ironically, the Biden Administration has been busing and flying illegal immigrants to Republican cities and states for the last 21 months, and Gavin Newson has never asked the DOJ to investigate him; Hillary Clinton didn’t accuse Biden of being a human trafficker. But as soon as, illegal immigrants are bussed or flown to blue cities and states, the loving, caring, generous liberals are not so loving, caring or generous to these illegal immigrants. They do not want illegal immigrants in their backyard any more than anyone else does. So, are these places really sanctuary cities or are merely sanctimonious cities?

State Representative Dylan Fernandes, who represents Martha's Vineyard, called DeSantis flying the illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyards, "an incredibly inhumane and depraved thing to do." Yet he says nothing about the 700 illegal immigrants who have died in their attempt to cross our southern border as a direct result of Joe Biden’s open border policy. Not one person who is feigning outrage at the transporting of illegals in buses and planes to an ultra-affluent vacation town, has ever said a word about those tragic deaths. No one is speaking out against the countless young women who have been raped by coyotes or human smugglers on their trek to cross our border illegally.

DeSantis has been accused of using these 50 illegal immigrants as political pawns. When in reality, the Democrats have been using illegal immigrants as political pawns for the last forty years. They have encouraged these people to travel long distances through dangerous conditions, risking their lives to come to America as part of their political strategy to grant them amnesty and have them vote for Democrats. Nothing about the Democrats illegal immigration strategy has anything to do with care and concern for the illegal immigrants themselves, it is solely about importing cheap labor and Democrat voters. That is all it’s about. Tens of millions of illegal immigrants have been treated like pawns by the Democrats for decades.

After years of calling anyone who objected to mass illegal immigration “racists” and “bigots”, liberals have just revealed that they do not want anything to do with illegal immigrants as much as anybody. To point out this as an example of liberal hypocrisy becomes too redundant to even state because on every issue from climate change to Covid policy to gun control to crime to school choice to healthcare, liberals are hypocrites. There is rarely an issue that the Democrats don’t have two standards, one for themselves, and one they impose on everybody else. The illegal immigration issue is just another glaring example of liberal hypocrisy.

I’m not going to stoop to the liberals’ level and portray the people in Martha’s Vineyard who object to illegal immigrants showing up in their town, as racists. They are not racist. This is not a racial issue. This is an economic issue, and this is a nationalist issue. We must do what is best for the United States of America. And right now, unfettered illegal immigration through an open border that Joe Biden has created is possibly the worst thing a President could do to this country. And long after Joe Biden is dead and buried, we will still be impacted by the effects of this disastrous policy.

We have been told for years by the left that “diversity is our strength”, but the real strength of the United States of America is our stability which is threatened by unfettered mass illegal immigration. Allowing two million illegal immigrants to walk into our country every year under the false premise that “diversity is our strength”, is one of the most destabilizing policies in our nation’s history. The problem is that people like Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Barack Obama, Susan Rice, and Alejandro Mayorkas, only view the world through the lens of race, and when you do that, you get a distorted and prejudicial view of the world which causes you to make disastrous decisions and end up hurting millions of people, many times the people you claim you’re trying to help.

The actions of Ron DeSantis and Texas Governor Greg Abbott have shone a light on the problem with allowing mass illegal immigration. Illegal immigration puts in undue, unnecessary, and a potentially devastating strain on our social services, and if it continues, will eventually destroy the very fabric of our country. The political leaders in Martha’s Vineyard complained that they would not be able to provide the illegal immigrants with the things that they need and at the same time, attempting to do so would crush their social services for the rest of their citizens.

Martha’s Vineyard is a microcosm of the rest of America. Every city and every town in America are just like Martha’s Vineyard or New York City or Chicago as far as their ability to absorb a mass influx of illegal immigrants. It puts a severe strain on every part of life in those cities and towns, from the social services to housing to the job market to the schools to the hospitals to law enforcement to the basic necessities of life. The more we bring in mass unvetted illegal immigrants the more the services that every American depends on comes closer and closer to collapsing. So, the objection to illegal immigration is the same from people in Del Rio, Texas to Martha’s Vineyard, and it has nothing to do with the complexion of the illegal immigrants’ skin. It has everything to do with our inability to absorb and assimilate this many foreign nationals into our country at once.

I stand with Martha’s Vineyard. The people in Martha’s Vineyard are doing exactly what they should be doing. They are protecting their homes, their families, and their town from foreign nationals who willfully broke our federal immigration laws and came into this country. They shouldn’t have to take in illegal immigrants. These people are not their responsibility. What Martha’s Vineyard did is exactly what the United States of America must do to illegal immigrants, don’t allow them to stay. These people are citizens of another country. They are the responsibility of those countries.

Taking in millions and millions of illegal immigrants from failed countries solves no problems. In fact, it exacerbates all the existing problems. Negative immigration is as devastating to that country as much as too much immigration is to ours. Countries losing hundreds of thousands of its citizens become worse, not better which in turn causes more people to want to leave, making the country even worse, and even more people to want to leave, creating a vicious cycle. That’s how cities like Detroit and Baltimore have become hollowed out. So, encouraging mass illegal immigration is creating even more poverty and pain throughout the third world, and causing a greater illegal immigration in the west.

Biden’s open border policy is not helping those countries; it is hurting them. It is not helping the illegal immigrants; it is hurting them. That is why we need to build a wall so the United States federal government can control the influx of immigrants into this country because we know better than anybody else how many new immigrants our social services can accommodate and how quickly the immigrants will assimilate into our country, so that immigration will end up helping everyone concerned – our country, the immigrants, and the immigrants’ home country.
